Still Waiting...

Over the years, I've come to realize that there are definitely many advantages of living in The Bahamas.  There's the lovely turquoise sea; the warm weather; and the friendly people, just to name a few.  Receiving mail on a timely basis isn't one of them!  DHL - WHERE'S MY BOOK?

Somewhere Out There

Have been drumming my fingers all weekend and not happy about it.  Drum, drum, drum.

Meanwhile, back in Florida, Karen, (a.k.a. - 'My Awesome Ilustrator') received her physical proof copy of the book and was quite pleased.  Karen said it "Could be a REAL LIVE BOOK!"  It could be, but where, oh where, is it?  That's not fair!  Where's mine?

An email said mine was shipped, so where is it?  DHL are you there?

Little Johnnie and Little Mary

It was Friday, January 6th.  I was still away enjoying the company of family, but home alone when the doorbell sang.  With fingers crossed, I peeked out and my wish came true - the first proof of my book had arrived.  Within seconds, I was in the solitude of my room and began what was to be the first of seven reviews.

On the first review, my entire book was flawless.  I was totally beyond the beyond, smitten with pride and excitement, and I must admit - teary-eyed, for I had done it!  I had finally written a very soon-to-be published book, well, nearly published. It was truly another Ah! moment. Time to call Karen, my illustrator.

Embracing the Speed

While entranced by the Thursday mani/pedi special, I flipped through the January free publication of Colorado's Women's Edition, The Magazine for Metropolitan Women.  On page 9, I came across the horoscopes and out of curiosity, read mine:

Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21) While you might have felt that things had stalled during the last quarter of the year, things start moving again.  There will be news about opportunities for you to travel, to get published, or ways to move forward on your chosen path.  Embrace the speed with which things are moving and go with it as long as you can.

Bring it on!

An Ah! Moment

Just received the very long anticipated notice that the proof for my book has shipped, with expected delivery date of Friday, January 6th.  2012 is looking good.
